What’s On March 18

It’s a bit quieter than last week but let’s take a look at what’s on around the region this weekend.

underarmIt’s a big weekend at the theatre with two productions going head to head.

Firstly it’s the hilarious comedy skit The Underarm which of course is based on that famous incident 35 years ago.

It follows two brothers, one Kiwi, one Aussie, as they discuss the incident, their childhood and become some famous faces.

The Australia vs New Zealand sledging is rife throughout the entire performance.

It’s on this Sunday at the World Theatre starting at 6pm, ticket’s are $29.50.

beauty and beastAlso we have the Beauty and the Beast Jnr musical put on by the Towers Players Club.

We featured the performance preparations in our regional report last night so if you’re interested to see what it’s all about, take a look here.

It’s an all local kids production of the famous Disney classic.

Tickets are available from Poppet Head gift shop on Gill St.

earth hourThis Sunday is Earth Hour so help fight against climate change by switching your lights off between 8:30 and 9:30pm.

You can get involved by hosting a public event, just head to the earth hour website here.

If you’re hosting an event already, let us know we’d love to hear from you.

And of course the QCWA markets are on this Sunday at the hall on Mosman St.

At the movies, the World Theatre will be playing Grimsby, 13 Hours: The Secret Soldiers of Benghazi, The Lady in the Van and 10 Cloverfield Lane.

At the drive-in will be a double feature of The Lady in the Van and Robot and Frank.

It’s their birthday weekend so jump out and support a local business.
