This afternoonpink stumps day Columba Catholic College is holding the first of their Pink Stumps Day cricket matches.

The game against Blackheath and Thornburgh College starts at 3:45 at Columba with all proceeds going to the McGrath Foundation.

The campaign is an Australia-wide initiative to help raise money for breast cancer awareness.

So come down, support the players and make a donation if you can.

 

girl guidesOn Saturday at 12:30 the Charters Towers Girl Guides are holding their Easter cent sale again.

All money raised will go into funding the operational costs of the program young girls in town have a place to meet and learn new skills.

Prizes ranging from electronic equipment to gift vouchers to local stores are available so come and support our local girls.

 

 

Saturday night is the Fillies, Frocks and Flemington Ladies Night out.

It’s being organised by the neighbourhood centre to let their hair down and dress up for some ‘fashion in the fields’.

There will be entertainment, male waiters, a photobooth and a sweets bar.

Tickets are still on sale and only $35 so if you fancy a relaxing night out with friends why not come and join.

 

The Greenvale Country Club markets are on this Sunday from 9am til 2pm.

There will be food, arts and crafts, trash and treasure , clothes and plant stalls.

New stallholders are always welcome so why not set up a tent and sell your wares.

The showground markets are also on in town this Sunday from 7am til noon.

 

At the movies this week is the new Sacha Baron Cohen side stitcher Grimsby, as well How to be Single, Brooklyn and The Lady in the Van.

At the Drive-In is How to be Single followed by the classic action thriller Pointbreak.
