Federal Member for Kennedy Bob Katter has used Question Time in the Federal Parliament to highlight the importance of protecting people over crocodiles, claiming the Qld ALP and LNP are ‘dilly dallying’ and won’t let the KAP MP Shane Knuth’s Safer Waterways Bill even be debated.
Mr Katter asked a question of the Federal Environment Minister Josh Frydenberg.
“Crocodiles are now killing North Queenslanders at almost one a year. Sightings at our tourism beaches and attacks on dogs are almost weekly”
Mr Katter has a long-established position of protecting people over crocodiles and has slammed the other NQ Members of the Qld Parliament that voted against the Bill in Parliament.
“These NQ Members of Parliament have been given every opportunity to represent and protect their people and their decision means the next death will be upon their conscience.”
“One can hardly blame the crocodile; it’s programmed to eat humans. But future generations will look back on these gutless so-called representatives of North Queensland with disgust, but that probably won’t worry them, what will worry them is losing their $200k a year salary”.
