A South East Queenslander now has the title of putting full flavour back into ham.
Daryl Pattemore, from Pattemore’s Meats at Alexandra Hills in Redlands has been honoured with national recognition and a win in in the hugely prestigious 2018 Australian PorkMark Ham Award.
Top honours this year were awarded to Pattemore’s Meats, Alexandra Hills, which took out Best Traditional Bone-in ham in Queensland and nationally, as well as the coveted Best Artisan Ham award. Judges described the ham as being very neat, with a good shape, perfect internal appearance, excellent flavour and balance.
The 6th generation South East Queensland Butcher says to win against a field of over 150 finalist entries from across Australia is testament to the family’s devotion to preparing the perfect ham.

The Australian PorkMark ham Awards recognise the country’s best hams made from 100% home-grown Aussie pork with Pattemore’s Christmas ham judged to be of the highest quality by the judges.
