Projects in Boulia, Croydon, Hughenden and Richmond will now be delivered in partnership with Boulia, Croydon, Flinders and Richmond councils, generating seven jobs as well as new business opportunities.

The new Building our Regions funds will contribute to:

  • sewerage upgrades in Boulia with $500,000, from the Government
  • caravan park upgrades in Croydon with $487,644 from the Government and $64,920 from Croydon Shire Council
  • a new landfill cell in Hughenden with $375,000 from the Government and $132,447 from Flinders Shire Council
  • a new caravan park in Richmond with $300,000 from the Government and $390,000 from Richmond Shire Council.

Minister for Local Government and Minister for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Partnerships, Mark Furner says infrastructure funding is important for delivering jobs in regional Queensland.

“These projects are a catalyst not only for jobs, but also for the liveability of local communities and that benefits all residents.”

Successful projects under Round 3 of the program will be announced by mid-2017.
