Charters Towers Regional Council has appointed Aaron Johansson to the position of CEO.
He joins the council from his current role as Isaac Regional Council corporate, governance and financial services director.
Mr Johansson brings to the region his experience in local government and from senior financial roles he held in the mining, financial management and banking sectors.
He holds a Bachelor of Business (Accounting), several diplomas in accounting and financial planning and he is a Chartered Accountant. He has also recently completed his MBA.
Interim CEO Bruce Davidson remains in the chair until Mr Johansson starts duties on October 3.
His appointment follows an extensive recruitment process conducted by the recruitment consultant, Mark Ogston of Leading Roles.
The process included a presentation by each of the 4 final candidates selected from 20 applicants with the Selection Panel unanimous in their choice of Mr. Johansson.
