The enchantment will spread across the Charters Towers Region when Melbourne City Ballet tour “A Midsummer Night’s Dream” on July 22 at the World Theatre as part of its 30 regional venues tour.
This ballet follows the stories of four different couples leading up to the marriage of Hypolita and Theseus on the edge of Athens and the Fairy Woodlands and as the saying goes shows the course of true love never did run smooth.
Set to the inspiring music of Mendelssohn, the chaotic story of four young lovers, a vengeful king and meddling fairies will prove falling in love can make fools of everyone Melbourne City Ballet Artistic Director Michael Pappalardo is confident the production will be received well.
“We have a real commitment to providing first-class performances to as many regional and remote areas of Australia as possible.”
“A Midsummer Night’s Dream is such a fantastic ballet to tour as it appeals to a wide range of people. Action, comedy, drama, and of course a splash of fairy magic combines to make this the perfect ballet for people to bring their families along to see.”
The Ballet will be performed on 22 July at 7.30pm at the World Theatre.
