Armed robbery suspect still on the run.

Investigations are continuing in relation to the armed robbery that occurred at the Queenton Newsagency on Sunday 8/11/2015.  Police are currently sifting through intelligence and information but are seeking further information from the community.  If you have any information,  no matter how small it might seem,  please pass it onto police or Crimestoppers on 1800 333 000.

Theft at airport currently being investigated

Police are continuing to investigate the theft of an aero engine and other components from an Zenith CH701 aircraft which is valued at over $30,000.   The aircraft was parked at the Charters Towers Airport.  The theft occurred between 8 and 11 November 2015.  Anyone with information about the theft are encouraged to call police or Crimestoppers on 1800 333 000.

Assault against Police officer.

Police were called to a Brisk Street address at about 3.30pm on Friday 13/11/2015 where a disturbance was taking place.  As a result,  a 47yr old Charters Towers woman was arrested and charged with serious assault against police after she allegedly spat at an officer and with a public nuisance offence.  She will appear in Charters Towers Magistrates Court on 7/12/2015.  A 34 yr old male and a 40 yr old female who also became embroiled in the disturbance were charged with public nuisance offences and will also appear in court on the same day.

Drug Paraphernalia Charge 

On Monday morning, a 35yr old Charters Towers woman who was at the police station in relation to another matter was charged with possessing a utensil for use in connection with smoking a dangerous drug when a glass pipe was found in her possession.  She will appear in Charters Towers Magistrates Court on 7/12/2015.

Threatening call made to Police

A 46yr old Charters Towers man was charged with failing to leave licensed premises after a disturbance at a Mosman Street hotel at about 10.25pm on Saturday night.  He was also charged with improper use of an emergency call service after he allegedly made a threatening call to 000.  He will appear in Charters Towers Magistrates Court on 7/12/2015.
