Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk says the it’s time for a boost to drought assistance from the Queensland Drought Appeal.
Originally capped at $5000 per family, the Premier has lifted the limit to $7500.
“Everybody knows there are families out there doing it incredibly tough,” the Premier said. “But we need to do more. Just last week our Parliament House fundraiser collected $120,000.”
Minister for Agriculture, Mark Furner, says the response from the community had been incredible with The Appeal tally just over $2.8 million and rising.
