AgForce Praise Army Efforts

The Federal Government’s commitment of Australian Defence Force resources to the AgForce-led Emergency Fodder Drop initiative has been warmly welcomed by the group and they say it’s a vital move to save thousands of head of cattle isolated and distressed by the devastating floods in north Queensland.

AgForce says Minister for Agriculture David Littleproud and the ADFhave moved quickly.

AgForce is currently developing an Emergency Fodder Drop Map, to allow producers who are in urgent need of fodder to sustain their animals to let the Taskforce know the quantity required and where it should be delivered.

The interactive Map will allow producers to drop a pin on a virtual map with the click of a mouse or the tap of a device. These co-ordinates will be passed onto the army and others involved in the delivery of fodder.

It will also allow people who would like to donate or sell fodder or other services, such as transport logistics, to put their hands up.

The Map and 1800 Hotline will be resourced by AgForce. It will be announced widely in the media and online shortly.
